Dear Devotees of Supreme Lord Sri Krishna,

I want to share with you a very important aspect of  your Boston Hare Krishna temple where Supreme Lord Sri Krishna and Sri Radha accepts services from all of us in Their Archa Vigraha form of most beautiful Sri Sri Radha Gopivallabha !

To maintain Their temple at 72 Commonwealth Ave, regular monthly expenses are incurred for:

A) Building Maintenance.
B) Kitchen and Bhoga.
C) Deity Services.
D) Devotee Maintenance.

The temple treasurer has informed me that average monthly total expenses for all these services totals up over $10,000 per month excluding the festivals. And I have noticed that the temple does not have any regular monthly income source other than what comes in the donation box which is not at all sufficient to cover these expenses!

So there is a very urgent need to establish a regular monthly income program for the temple !

We learn from the Sastras that the Lord is non different from His Archa Vigraha, when  it is installed according the Vedic procedures. As such Sri Sri Radha Gopivallabha was installed by the pure devotee of Sri Krishna, His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila  Prabhupada  on July 19, 1971. Since last 40 years Sri Sri Radha and Gopivallabha are the presiding Deities for the New England community and accepting services from the sincere devotees and blessing them and fulfilling all their desires.

Daily in the morning for mangala arati we sing Sri Guruvasthaka in praise of spiritual master and the Deities: Sri Vigraaradhana nitya nana sringara tan mandira marjanadau. As this verse indicates that in order to make progress in spiritual life; It’s very essential that we have to have a temple for the community where Deities of Supreme Lord Sri Krishna and Sri Radha are installed and They are dressed with gorgeous outfits and various kinds of attractive jewelleries etc. and are fed very sumptuous and delicious food preparation. And also Their temple should be maintained very clean and beautifully decorated all the time!

As such the Boston temple of Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Gopivallabha is the only community temple of the Supreme Lord in the New England area! So it is most obligatory and important duty for everyone who has some connection with this temple to participate in all the activities of this temple and support financially in maintaining this temple and improving the services offered to the Deities; So that Deities will be pleased with the services They receive and bless everyone and fulfill all the desires and grant pure devotional service to everyone.

In order to fix the temple finance problem; I have designed a program called “Lover of Radha Gopivallabha”(LRG) This program is designed to give an opportunity to everyone to participate in the temple management by contributing a fraction of their monthly income every month for the services of Sri Sri Radha Gopivallabha. Every Vaishnava loves Lord Sri Krishna and has some kind of love relation with Him. Either as  shanta, dashya, shakya, vatshalya, or madhurya etc. So I want to call everyone a lover of Krishna. Since names of our presiding Deities are Radha and Gopivallabha, I would call them “Lover of Radha Gopivallabha”!!!

In the attached sheet, I have outlined the “Lover of Radha Gopivallaba” program and various levels of contribution one can make and corresponding benefits they are eligible to receive etc. are described in detail. These levels are so designed so that everyone can easily sign up according their level of love for Krishna and their financial situation!

In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna says: sarvasya caham hridisannivistho, matta smritir apohanam ca (BG 15.15)  “I am all pervading and also I am sitting in everyone’s heart, from me comes all the memory and forgetfulness” Since he is sitting in our heart, it means he is our constant companion, he is more near to us then even our family members, like: wife , children, parents etc. And also from Him comes memory and forgetfulness. So He is very important part of our life. We always spend lot of money to maintain our family members every month because we love them.  In real perspective Krishna is also our family member because he lives in our heart, also all the memory comes from Him. Actually He is more nearer to us than even our family members! So we definitely need to spend some money to maintain and please Him, so that he always protects us and gives us good memory and intelligence!

In each and every chapter of Bhagavad Gita, through various verses Lord Sri Krishna, stresses the importance of Bhakti Yoga (Devotional Service) to attain Him or to reach Him. And finally (BG 18.55) baktya mam abhijanati yavan yas casmi tattvatah tato mam tattvato jnatva visate tad anantaram. “ Only through devotional services I can be known as I am in truth. After thus knowing me you will enter in to my Kingdom”. Supporting Krishna’s temple financially is one of the most important type of Devotional Service! The nine process of devotional service (srvanam, kirtanam visno smaranam, pada sevanam, arcanam vandanam, dasyam, sakhyam, atmanivedanam) are followed very sincerely in this temple of Sri Sri Radha Gopivallabha ! Hence, by supporting this temple you are getting the full benefit of all these nine process of devotional service!

 I am sure, any person who is having some income would be able to spend at least one dollar a day for his beloved! It’s very logically established and proved that Lord Sri Krishna is our most near and dear relative as well as the most loveable Person in our life! So would you not spend at least one dollar a day for Sri Krishna?  That is just $31 a month!

Srila Rupa Goswami, one of the most important Acharya in the Madhwa Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya had instructed that one should spend 50% of one’s income for Krishna’s service! And he actually did that; He was a big minister in the government of Nawab Hussin of Bengal. When he left the government service to join Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu - He contributed 50 % of all of his income to Vaishnavas and brahmanas to spend on Mahaprabhu’s movement and 25% given to his family and relatives and kept 25% for himself for any emergencies!

I believe, whoever receiving this mail has some connection, or lot of connection, with Lord Sri Krishna or Srila Prabhupada or Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu or the Hare Krishna Movement! Whatever level of your connection may be! Now, is the right time and the right opportunity to make the Full connection! by signing up as “Lover of Radha Gopivallabha” and begin or strengthen your spiritual life and achieve perfection!

I would encourage and request everyone who has received this mail to take it very seriously and involve in your temple affairs and become a Lover of Radha Gopivallabha for life! And at the end of your life go back home back to Godhead to Goloka Vrindavana and serve Sri Sri Radha Gopivallabha there in your spiritual body!!!

My immediate challenge is that; I need to raise $10,000 a month to maintain the regular services of Sri Sri Radha Gopivallabha! And my challenge will be met; If only 10 pious souls like yourself come forward to sign up to contribute $1008 per month, or 20 pious souls $501 a month, or 30 pious souls $301 month, or 40 pious souls $251 a month, or 50 pious souls $201 month, or 67 pious souls $151 a month,  or 93 pious souls $108 a month, or 200 pious souls $51 a month,  or 330 pious souls contribute $31 a month,  that will help the temple tremendously to maintain and improve the devotional service and benefit the entire community of New England. And in return Their Lordships Sri Sri Radha Gopivallabha will be very pleased with you and all of Their pious supporters and would bless everyone profusely!
